Westmount, Quebec – 29 July 2022: The latest education module produced by the Je Me Souviens (JMS) education team will be launched at an event held at the Fusiliers Mont-Royal on 24 August 2022. The event is open to the public and will feature a display of new exhibition panels, education materials, and a short video narrating the events of the Battle of Dieppe through the recollections of Lieutenant-Colonel David Hart, MM, CD, who earned his Military Medal for his bravery on the Dieppe beaches as a young NCO 80-years ago. RSVP for the event here.
In preparation for the launch event, on 19 August 19 2022, JMS will be commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid with the launch of their newest education module. A new mobile exhibition will be available for reservation in schools, and visitors will be able to consult the JMS website for the interactive online exhibition as well as a range of turnkey activities that will allow students to develop their critical thinking and historical analysis skills and to practice for their exams.
As part of the lead-up to the anniversary, the JMS team has been releasing fresh materials to provide context and backgrounds. Check out this fascinating post about what Canadian soldiers carried into battle at Dieppe, and sign up for the JMS newsletter to receive more information.
