RMR leaders speak at Aldo Women’s Leadership Conference

Westmount Quebec, 09 February 2023: Aldo Group, a leading footwear, handbags and accessories fashion company based in Montreal, recently held a Women’s Leadership Conference where they invited members of the Army Reserves to speak about their experiences, including two RMR leaders: Sergeant Brigitte O’Driscoll and Master-Corporal Tess Pellow. They were joined on stage by a good friend of the Regiment, Master Warrant Officer Sara Anvari of the 34 Signals Regiment.

Sergeant O’Driscoll all rucked up and ready to march on a Winter Warfare exercise in Valcartier, Quebec.

Aldo is a a major global brand with 16,000+ associates operating 1,500+ Points of Sales in 100+ countries, and is certified as a “Great Place To Work”. Their CEO, David Bensadoun, who serves as the RMR’s Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel, often speaks about his obsession to make a big company feel small – a place that feels more human and casual with everyone closer together, treating each other with kindness and respect. “It’s a powerful feeling rooted in Aldo’s values and it resonates in the work we do and what we build as a team.”

The goal of the Women’s Leadership Conference which Aldo holds every few months, is to create more qualified female Vice-Presidents for the future by offering training and development opportunities, and exposing their personnel to outside perspectives. There were 80 female Aldo leaders in attendance for this conference and they were thrilled with what they learned from the military leaders present. Some were so impressed that there might even be some applicants at the recruiting office!
