RMR Moves Back Into The Line in 1915

The Battalion War Diarist wrote for this day: “Relieved 15th Battn.  At night, in same sub-sector as before.  Nos. 4, 1, and 2 Cos. in front line beginning from right, No. 3 in support.  Orders received to be ready to attack German line should British Brigade on our right attack.  All preparations made.” [1]

THIS DAY IN RMR HISTORY: “The Battalion moved forward again on the night of March 9th, taking over the Rue Petillon trenches from the 15th.  On this occasion Nos. 1, 2 and 4 Companies occupied the front line, No. 4 on the right, No. 2 on the left, and No. 1 in the centre.  No. 3 Coy. remained in support.”   [2]
