RMR MUSEUM NEEDS YOU
Westmount, Quebec – 06 January 2018: The RMR is expanding their museum, both physically and virtually, and needs volunteers!
We’re looking for anyone with a keen interest and willingness to work as part of a motivated team, ideally with personal experience and knowledge in areas such as military medals, badges, firearms, other militaria, and/or in related display, research, public relations or computer technology. You don’t need to be a history expert – you just need to be interested & ready to learn!
The RMR Museum is coming off a record year for attendance and outreach, with more than 8,000 visitors in 2017. Our plan is to steadily increase that number, particularly focusing on our school outreach program that has a dedicated students section. The RMR Museum worked with local educators to develop an educational program for high school students about the First World War, and recently launched a new website to host the materials: https://rmrmuseum.com/
The museum already has an extensive collection of military weapons and artifacts which is in the process of being digitized with a view to being accessible online for virtual access. A portion of the collection has begun to be made available online already.
Interested? Please send a brief message detailing your experience, specific area of interest, and reasons for wanting to volunteer to info@rmrmuseum.com.
