Westmount, Quebec – 14 July 2021: In another promising sign that the pandemic restrictions are easing, the RMR Museum renewal project is picking up speed again, aiming for a launch in the autumn. The museum is getting brand new custom made displays and floor to ceiling interpretative panels. The display cabinets will have drawers that can be opened to securely display artefacts ‘under glass’. Humidity protection is built into the designs to further safeguard the RMR’s artefacts and ensure a long life.

The museum room was completely gutted and repainted in preparation for the new displays. Visitors can expect to see a fully bilingual display reflective of the RMR’s heritage. New weapon display cases have been built in accordance with the latest security directives, and the entire permanent exhibition will certainly impress visitors. Be sure to drop in once the armoury is reopened to the public!
