Westmount receives Friendship Award from RMR Association

Westmount, Quebec – 22 November 2015: In a ceremony at the conclusion of the annual Remembrance Day ceremonies for Westmount on Sunday 08 November 2015, the RMR Association (Branch 14) formally thanked Westmount for the years of support that it has provided the Royal Canadian Legion and the annual poppy campaign.

Comrade Sue Guerin, president of the RMR Association, accompanied by her First Vice-President, George Gohier – who was the Chairman of the 2015 poppy campaign in Westmount – presented His Worship Peter Trent, the mayor of Westmount, with a plaque formally recognizing Westmount for all of their encouragement of the poppy campaign over the years.  Westmounters have always been generous in their support of veterans and the RMR Association wanted to ‘make it official’ in the Remembrance Sunday ceremony. The plaque was presented on the battalion review parade in the RMR’s home on Ste-Catherine Street.
