RIP: Corporal Samagra Abrol

Westmount, Quebec – 14 July 2025: The RMR Foundation regrets to announce the death of Corporal Samagra Abrol.

Corporal Abrol served with quiet professionalism and unwavering dedication. Known for his sharp intellect, kind demeanour, and steady presence, he brought strength to every section he was part of and always placed the mission and his fellow soldiers first. He will be remembered by his peers as a thoughtful and dependable soldier who exemplified the values of the Regiment.

The Antim Sanskar (Hindu last rites and cremation ceremony) for Corporal Abrol will be held on Tuesday, 15 July 2025 at the Crematorium located at 2361 Rang St-Antoine, Vaudreuil-Dorion (Google Maps). The family has requested that members of the RMR attend after 10h30, following the private family ceremony.

Members in uniform are to wear service dress (DEU) with ribbons only (no medals), and that black mourning armbands may only be worn by officers and Chief Warrant Officers. Those attending in civilian attire are encouraged to wear white clothing, in keeping with Hindu tradition.

RMR members are also welcome to join the Uthala (prayer meeting) which will be held on Friday, 18 July 2025, from 12h00 to 14h00 at the Hindu Mandir located at 50 Rue Kesmark, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Google Maps). All who knew Corporal Abrol or were touched by his life are invited to attend and share in the remembrance. A livestream will be available via the Samagra Abrol YouTube channel, final details will be posted the day prior.

The Regiment extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Corporal Abrol. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
