Westmount, Quebec – 24 February 2026: On Saturday, February 14, 2026, cadets from all four affiliated units of the Royal Montreal Regiment (RMR) competed against each other at the 2026 Annual RMR Affiliated Unit Basketball Tournament.

Hosted this year by 588 Eric Simms Royal Canadian Air Cadet Corps (RCACS), the tournament brought teams together for a day of high‑intensity, fast‑paced basketball. Each match consisted of 7‑minute half‑court games, a format that kept the action continuous and demanded quick thinking, endurance, and strong teamwork from every participant.

Adding to the professionalism of the event, LCol (ret’d) Colin Robinson, former Commanding Officer and Honorary Colonel of The Royal Montreal Regiment, volunteered as Score Director and Timekeeper. His sons, Jack and Charlie, refereed the tournament. Colonel Robinson’s presence and active involvement provided a meaningful connection to the Regiment’s history and ongoing support of its affiliated cadet units.
