Welcoming the Next Generation

Westmount, Quebec – 07 May 2026: The ranks of The Royal Montreal Regiment (RMR) continue to grow. On Tuesday evening, 5 May 2026, RMR’s newest soldiers were formally welcomed by the Regiment’s Command Team following their recent enrolment into the Canadian Armed Forces. Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Kevin Langlois and Regimental Sergeant-Major Chief Warrant Officer James Quesnel took time to personally greet Private Dominic Peng and Private Yassin Chowdhury, congratulating them on taking their first official steps in uniform.
For every soldier who joins the Regiment, enrolment marks far more than a ceremony. It is the beginning of a demanding journey built on discipline, teamwork, service, and the proud traditions of those who have served before them.
As Privates Peng and Chowdhury begin their training and prepare for the challenges ahead, they do so as the newest members of a regiment whose history stretches back to 1914, and whose soldiers continue to serve with distinction at home and abroad.
