Westmount, Quebec – 25 October 2026: Recruits from The Royal Montreal Regiment’s (RMR) Depot Company headed to the Farnham training area in mid-October to develop their leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through practical military training.

The recruits took on the challenges of Farnham’s Leadership Potential Assessment Course (LPAC), which uses a series of obstacles and team-based tasks to test participants’ ability to think on their feet, communicate effectively, and work together to accomplish a mission.

Unlike traditional classroom instruction, LPAC places soldiers in situations where success depends on cooperation, initiative, and the willingness to step forward when challenges arise. It reinforces an important lesson for every new soldier: leadership is not simply about giving orders, but about earning trust, supporting teammates, and getting the job done together.

For Depot Company’s newest soldiers, the experience represented another important step in their development, building the confidence, resilience, and fighting spirit that will serve them throughout their military careers.
