Contemporary history at RMR Museum

Westmount, Quebec – 25 October 2016: It isn’t very often that the RMR Museum receives an artifact from the same year that the history was made, but recently it received a Canadian flag that had flown on operations this past winter in the skies over Iraq.

A Sergeant of the RMR had been deployed in the region and secured the flag as the tour was being closed out. The flag was stored in aircraft flown on three separate sorties (Iraq 28 January 2016, Bagdhad 09 February 2016, and Haditha 19 February 2016) and it comes an accompanying certificate from the Royal Canadian Air Force proclaiming its authenticity. The RMR Sergeant donated the flag to the RMR Museum upon his return from deployment this summer.
