Westmount, Quebec – 23 June 2025: On 20 June 2025, the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Kevin Langlois, and Regimental Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer James Quesnel, of the RMR attended the graduation parade for Basic Military Qualification course TEII 2514, held at the Saint-Hubert garrison. The five-week full-time course was run by F-Coy and housed candidates in modular tents located adjacent to the M196 building, not far from the airport tarmac.
Representing the RMR proudly were six new graduates: Privates Deme, Grenier-Larocque, Hosseini, Damir, Bercan, and Akl. The course tested the physical and mental resilience of these soldiers, introducing them to the foundational skills of soldiering within the Canadian Armed Forces. From fieldcraft and weapon handling to drill and discipline, the recruits were immersed in an intense and demanding training regime designed to instill the core values of the CAF.
For the RMR, this successful graduation is another testament to the strength and determination of its newest members. The graduates are now well-positioned to continue their training journey, moving forward toward their Developmental Period 1. They will join their fellow soldiers in preparing for upcoming unit exercises and taskings, applying what they’ve learned to further contribute to the operational readiness of the Regiment.
The RMR leadership was pleased to witness the ceremony in person and extend personal congratulations to the soldiers and staff alike. “It’s always inspiring to see the next generation of soldiers take their first big step into the profession of arms,” said Regimental Sergeant-Major Chief Warrant Officer James Quesnel. “The grit they showed during this course is exactly what we value in the Regiment.”
Congratulations to our new RMR soldiers—we look forward to seeing what you accomplish next.
