2806 ARMY CADETS TAKES ON THE ARMY CADET FOURAID CHALLENGE

Pointe-Claire, Quebec, 21 October 2023: On October 8-9, 2023, Master Warrant Officer Athauda and Warrant Officer Lavrinenko participated in the Fouraid Adventure Race held at Cadet Training Centre Valcartier. This race combines orienteering, mountain biking, canoeing and trail running into one true test of strength, endurance and mental toughness. Both cadets were chosen based on their training experience. MWO Athuada is a trained Expedition Team Leader who has participated on several Regional Expeditions, while WO Lavrinenko recently completed the Mountain Bike Instructor this past summer. It is the first time either cadet competed in the event, learning on the fly and battling the (rainy) elements, they finished 29th out of 41 teams within the Open Category.

“It was a very fun and challenging experience. The rain and wind that day was not helpful, but our team morale stayed high and we proved that you can make the best out of every situation.” – MWO Athauda.
