Warrant Officer Carson Awarded Medal of Bravery

Westmount, Quebec – 29 March 2026: On 26 March 2026, Her Excellency Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, presented the Decorations for Bravery to 31 remarkable individuals, including the RMR’s very own Warrant Officer Jonathan Carson. As part of her remarks at Rideau Hall she stated “Through your actions, you have filled our country with gratitude and admiration.”
Warrant Officer Carson’s official citation reads:
“On February 28, 2022, in Montreal, Quebec, Sergeant Jonathan Carson noticed a fire at a neighbour’s house. He confirmed 911 was called before entering the smoke-filled building. Realizing a woman was unconscious in the kitchen, he retrieved gloves and a wet rag for protection, re-entered the burning home and pulled her to safety. He returned a third time to ensure no one else was trapped.”
