In his acceptance speech he noted that he “accepts this medal in the names of my parents, SARGEANT Feliks Kwasiborski and Bronislawa Herba and in the memory of the six million Polish men, women, and children, both military and civilian, who lost their lives during the Second World War. This epic struggle in Poland’s storied history was a dark, anguish-filled, and painful chapter, culminating into a period of many unforeseen domestic and international consequences. So as to honour their heroic sacrifice, we say in Polish, CSESC ICH PAMIEC, cherish their memory… Lest we Forget… Left we Forget.”
