RCACS 1 WEST MONTREAL WINS THE INAUGURAL RMR AFFILIATED UNIT BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Westmount, Quebec – 12 March 2024: The first ever RMR Affiliated Unit Basketball Tournament was held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Royal Montreal Regiment. This basketball tournament was open to all four cadet corps and squadrons affiliated with the regiment. This year all four units, RCACC 2806 Pointe-Claire (RMR), RCACC 2862 Westmount, RCACS 1 West Montreal and RCACS 588 Eric Simms participated. The competition was actioned packed with all of the cadets putting in the best efforts, but at the end of the day there was a clear winner, with the undefeated team from RCACS 1 West Montreal walking away as this year’s champions.

The RMR Affiliated Unit Basketball is the first of several competitions that are a part of new series of competitions that make up the RMR Cup. The next competition will be a marksmanship competition hosted by us at the cadet corps in early March.
